Tabernanthe Iboga is a psychedelic from West Africa. It is traditionally used for rites of passage and healing ceremonies among the Bwiti communities of Gabon and Cameroon. In the West, it’s most studied alcaloid, Ibogaine, is best known for its unique capacity to interrupt addiction processes, resolve PTSD, heal traumatic brain injury, eliminate the need for antidepressants and as a way to make fundamental changes to self-destructive patterns. We are also seeing a new wave of interest in research for nuerological and autoimmune conditions.
A Bwiti ceremony of Iboga or what is commonly called an Ibogaine “flood dose” can last several days, and plunges people into an experience from which many report to emerge profoundly transformed. It is an oneirogen and produces a state of awake dreaming characterized by an immersive dream state similar to REM sleep. Kristie Jacobsen has been immersed in the world of healing and holistic health for the past 30 years both as a seeker of truth and as a coordinator of therapies and retreats pointing towards the spiritual path. Her work is focused on sharing Ibogaine as an opportunity for deep self inquiry, as well as harmonizing body, mind and spirit.
